“The soffit is 3 feet wide around most of the house. A few pieces had fallen or were falling off and it was bulging down (sagging in the middle) in a few more places. I was looking for more than just replacing the fallen-off parts. After some discussion and investigation, Ryan, the carpenter, offered to install a furring strip for support all around the house. Ryan was just great. He was able to wash reuse much of the existing soffit. He alerted me to the anomalies that were revealed when he removed the existing soffit. He repaired vents and screened over the holes that had been sloppily left unscreened. The furring strip was not a constant height, he had to custom fit it. The plastic fence had been hit by a car. The exact pieces were not available, but Ryan did some kind of magic with plastic lumber and you can’t tell the difference. The ceiling plaster is absolutely fin.”
